62

I’ve had 62 unique vistors to my blog as of 8:57 this morning. That’s crazy! You like me, you really like me!

Granted, 67% of you don’t stay longer than 30 seconds. And most of you probably came from searching “Harriet Meirs.” (Begin sappy music.) But those moments, to me, are beautiful. I am connecting with you, the world, one little click at a time. (Sappy music begins the triumphant climax.) This is one small step towards world peace, toward global happiness and … yatta, yatta.

All that to say, thanks for stopping by and bringing my average to 12.4/day! It’s a new high. I’ll try to get something relevant on here.

Keeping House

If you have tried before, most of the above links were dead. I pulled a Frankenstein and made the “photo gallery” and “contact me” alive.

A little explanation about the photo gallery: Click on “my gallery” if you can. If not, it’s going to take several clicks to get any pictures. But press on — it’s well worth it. Most of them are from a while ago, because I was feeling a little nostalgic.

So email me, baby!

Oh, and I’m having trouble with adding more links to the left. I mean, I do have more than one friend! So, check out my boyfriend’s blog. And my new friend Lauren and my friend Andrew. Be patient and I’ll add you when I can.

I also need to make some categories for this blog. But how am I supposed to know what I’ll write about?

Second drink of the night and straight on ’til morning

Filed under: Posh Sass, Friendly Sass, Crazy Sass — Emily at 9:29 pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2005

That title is a lie. My 21st birthday did have a little alcohol, but not anything to worry the parents over. I am glad people came over. And I loved that we read Dooce’s poop stories out loud. But as far as typical guess-who-doesn’t-need-a-fake-ID-anymore-which-is-good-because-it-was-taken-by-that-mean-bouncer-who-asked-to-see-her-dimples day, it was moderate as far as shindigs go.

I guess I feel a new sense of freedom, knowing that I have a certain privilage. It always was a kind of torture to make the drink menu look more exciting than the kids’ menu. I can see myself now. I’ll go to TGI Fridays point at the kids and in a singsong, Elle-from-Legally-Blonde voice, say “I can drink the fun drinks! Na na na na na nahhh! And yes, mudslides do taste like milkshakes but funner!”

Big Bang

Filed under: Daily Sass, Friendly Sass, Just Plain Sass — Emily at 9:21 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2005

With a bang, the blogging begins. Maybe instead of a bang the new host and design is more of an insignificant tic instead of a massive explosion. No matter what sound effect accompanies this blog’s beginning, big aspirations are behind it.

I want to be like Dooce. Okay, so I don’t want to lose my job. (Even though it could make me famous.) I want to be an influential and/or entertaining voice — basically just interesting in some form or another — in this expansive medium.

I have to thank Abigail for introducing me to Her Dooceness and jump starting my neglected interest in blogs. And of course I have to thank my squeeze, Matt, for helping me with the (not-so, but almost pyro) technics and style help. My next step is to have the daisies replaced by a photo that will change every so often. This would also mean that I would need to use my camera more often. And why not use it more often, it’s quite sleek and sexy.

But more important than mere aesthetics, I need to decide on a name and witty tagline for my blog. A hasty decision could lead to regret. Should I keep with my classic, snappy phrase? Please stick with me, as I am desperately trying to be cool.
