A whole new world
3 — Time I woke up for flight
2 — Plane rides to get to North Carolina
1 — Big day for our friends Johnny a d Diana
Matt and I made the trek to North Carolina for his good friend Johnny’s wedding. (I’m still waiting for Matt to post the actual wedding pictures. So bug him!) Talking, advertising, lawns and attitudes — this place is much different than my home land of California. Being the snobby Californian that I am, the people have kicked me in the butt with kindness to make make me discover that NC is different, not beneath my status.
In talking with Matt’s friend Sean, also from California, we couldn’t decide if being from the “land of fruits and nuts” brought us mostly favor or frowns. I’m still unsure of what they think.
Here, they seem to practice diversity as everyday, normal business while we’re still in heated discussions about it. There are probably more trees (and maybe rocking chairs) than people. And family is most important. From what my first 24 hours told me, this humid place has serves an equal dose of kindness and sass — an intreguing concoction that has given this snobby Californian a (slight) change of heart.
Phrases that I’ve taken from the trip:
*Let’s meet at the Dollar General
*$700,000 for a 4 bed, 3 bath house on the coast

*It’s not my cup of tea
*Smoking or non-smoking?
*World’s largest frying pan

*Home Sweet Home

The rest of my pictures are in the photo gallery.
