Snow in the Bay Area!
I know I keep posting only pictures, but I can’t help it! It snowed last weekend in the Bay Area. I’ve lived there all my life and it snowed once, but melted before it hit the pavement. We hiked 11 miles to Murrieta Falls, the highest waterfall in the Bay Area. Now when my parents tell me that they walked to school 10 miles in the snow uphill both ways — I got them beat by a mile! And I know they’re liars because they went to school in the Bay Area.
The park rangers said it was the most snow they had seen there in about 15 years. They also said, quite matter-of-factly, don’t die or hurt yourself because you won’t be saved. Thanks for caring.
Masters of the disc and the mountain. Jeanie and Ricky (hike organizres, Nick (a.k.a. Frank the Tank), Matty West and myself.

Nice socks, Nick. All three pairs! It’s amazing that we smiled, being as we still weren’t done with the 2-mile uphill.

Matt brought a Frisbee, and wouldn’t you know it, it became a sled! What it actually resulted in was an excuse for Matt to push me into the snow. “I promise it will work this time! I’m just a bad pusher.” I believed him and ended up with lots of snow down my pants.

And, of course, there were snowballs.

Sara and Robert joined us late. Note: You snooze you lose the snow at low levels.

Thanks Ricky, Jeanie and that cute little tripod for the pictures.
